To the Editor:
They do not lie. They do not cheat. They do not steal. That’s the Honor Code of the United States Naval Academy, which U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) wanted everyone to know she attended when she first ran for Congress in 2016.
On Jan. 13, 2021, Sherrill publicly accused members of the House and/or staff of conducting “reconnaissance” tours of the House on Jan. 5 in order to aid those protesting on Jan. 6. That claim was published in this and other newspapers. In the three months since that claim was made, there has been no evidence produced, thus far. Furthermore, U.S. Rep. Sherrill has declined to name whom she claims to have observed.
Shouldn’t this newspaper be demanding Rep. Sherrill either identify the alleged “collaborators” or just as publicly, apologize?
