Perfect Pointe Performing Arts Company does well at competition

SPARTA Perfect Pointe Performing Arts Company (PPPAC) competed against 47 dance studios in the Dance Xplosion (DXP) National Competition from July 9-14, 2012 at the Wildwood Convention Center in Wildwood. The results were as follows: In the Petite Division: Diamela Elnasser performed a tap solo to "Goody, Goody" received a Platinum, first in genre and 10th overall in the Petite Division. Lilyann Loewen performed a musical theater solo to "Show Off" received Platinum, first genre and fourth overall in the Petite Division. Hailey Paolercio performed a jazz solo to "Material Girl" received a Platinum, first in genre and second in the Petite Division. Carolyn Roque performed a lyrical solo to "I See the Light" received an Xtreme Platinum, first in genre and first in the Petite Division. Olivia Morin performed a lyrical solo to "Simple Gifts" in the Title Competition and received an Excellence award. "Lets Rock" a jazz duo performed by Olivia Morin & Hailey Paolercio received a Platinum. "Doo Wah Ditty" a large group jazz dance received a Platinum Award and first in genre. "You Are So Beautiful" a large group lyrical dance received a Platinum Award and first in genre. "Mama Told Me" a large group jazz dance received Platinum, first in genre and seventh overall in the Petite Division. "Bellhop Boogie" a small group tap dance received an Xtreme Platinum, second in genre and second overall in the Petite Division. "Bellhop Boogie also earned an entry into the DXP Xtreme Challenge. "I Believe" a large group lyrical dance received an Xtreme Platinum, a special judges award for "Best Technique", first in genre and second overall the Petite Division. "I Beleive" also earned an entry into the DXP Xtreme Challenge. In the Junior Division: Katharine Hannan performed a lyrical solo to "Kite Song" received a Platinum award, fifth in her genre and a special judges award for "Simple Control" Emma Klein performed a lyrical solo to "Never Saw Blue" received an Xtreme Platinum, third in her genre, a special judges award for "Attention to Detail" and seventh overall in the Junior Division. "Wash that Man" a tap duo performed by Emma Klein & Haley Singer received a Platinum award. "Who'll Stop the Rain" a small group lyrical dance received a Platinum award. "Hit the Road Jack" a small group musical theater dance received an Xtreme Platinum, first in genre and a special judges award for "Fantastic Formations". "Cha Cha Heels" a small group jazz dance received an Xtreme Platinum, first in genre and ninth overall in the Junior Division. "Cha Cha Heels" also earned an entry into the DXP Xtreme Challenge. In the Teen Division: Alana Antanaitis performed a jazz solo to "Party Girl" received a Platinum award. "Can t Help Falling in Love" a small group lyrical dance received a Platinum award. "Wild Party" a small group musical theater dance received a Platinum award. "Little Birds" a small group jazz dance received a Platinum award. "Dirty Orchestra" a small group tap dance received an Xtreme Platinum and a special judges award called "Crystal Clean". "Dirty Orchestra" also received a wild card entry into the DXP Xtreme Challenge. In the Senior Division: Rachel Weiss performed a contemporary solo to "Dreamer" received a Platinum award. Deana Romano performed tap solo to "Kool Kat" received a Platinum award. Deanna also performed a jazz solo to "Thats It I Quit" received a Platinum award. Olivia Morin, whom at the regional level earned a spot on the National DXP Xtreme Team, was able to participate in a number of classes during the week and was invited to perform in the DXP Xtreme Challenge opening number. Four PPPAC routines were selected to perform in the DXP Xtreme Challenge at the end of the week, which highlights the top 40 routines from more than 1,300 competing throughout the event. During the DXP Spotlight Challenge "Bellhop Boogie", choreographed by Rebecca McCormac, earned second over all in the Petite/Junior Division and a special "Entertainment Award". While "Believe" choreographed by Jessica Barlow earned fourth and "Cha Cha Heels" choreographed by McCormac & Barlow earned 10th in the same division. Perfect Pointe also was awarded an "Excellence in Tap" Award. Jessica Barlow, Director & Owner of Perfect Pointe said "We are very proud of all our PPPAC dancers and congratulate each of them on their numerous accomplishments at nationals. We are especially excited for PPPAC to have been represented in the opening number and to be awarded with four entries into the DXP Xtreme Challenge Showcase. The best part for me was that our school was represented in the petite, junior and teen divisions, from some of our youngest dancers to our oldest dancers. " Perfect Pointe of Sparta is located at 30 Gail Court. Registration for season 8 Fall classes is currently in progress.
