Pass It Along's triathlon in July
Sparta — The 9th annual Pass It Along Triathlon will take place on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at the Lake Mohawk Country Club in Sparta, N.J. This multi-sport endurance event attracts over 1,000 spectators and features two USAT-certified courses, Olympic and Sprint. Participants must pre-register for this event, which sells out quickly and closes at 350 entries. This year’s presenting sponsors are Newton Medical Center and Atlantic Sports Health.
The Sprint course is a 400-meter swim, 10.8 mile bike and a 3.1 mile run. The Olympic course is a 1500 meter swim, 21.6 mile bike (2x the Sprint course) and a 6.2 mile run. Both courses are open to individuals and relay teams of two or three members. Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place overall male & female per course, relay teams and various age group categories.
The minimum age for individual entries is 14-years-old for both the Sprint & Olympic Course. For relay teams, the minimum age is nine-years-old for Sprint & 14 years for Olympic. addition to registering as a two or three member team, options are available for individuals that would like to participate in only some segments of the race, individuals looking for relay team member(s), and individuals that would like to have a swim angel (an experienced swimmer or lifeguard who provides support shore-side or in the water at open water swimming events).
Once again Sussex Bike & Sport Shop of Sussex & Andover, N.J., will award the fastest finisher on a non-road, non-triathlon bike a brand new road bike (relay teams not eligible for this contest). Any participant registered before July 1, 2018, will receive a complimentary t-shirt.
