The 7/8 Youth Lenape Field Hockey team finished its season on Sunday with a trip to the NJPA Youth League finals, and a second place finish overall. Reaching the playoffs for the first time in several years, Lenape edged out the previously undefeated Philipsburg team in a sudden death, 7 versus 7 overtime victory in the semifinal game. The girls then had a tough 0- loss to the undefeated Belvidere in the finals. The team, which consists of girls from Byram, Stanhope and Sparta will graduate 16 eighth graders this year as they move onto their respective High Schools next year.
