Join a Super Bowl champ to fight brain diseases
SPARTA If you know anyone who has or is struggling with brain cancer, Alzheimers Disease, Parkinsons Disease, addiction, epilepsy, PTSD, autism, traumatic brain injury, or other brain disorders, help IES Brain Research Foundation hasten research for cures of these devastating conditions. Join two-time Super Bowl champ, former NY Giant Lee Rouson on Thursday May 31 for the IES Brain Research Foundation Golf Outing and Dinner at Lake Mohawk Golf Club; to golf or just to dine. Golfers can meet and speak with Lee Rouson at 10 a.m. Rouson will be golfing and participating in the putting contest. He will speak at the dinner and share the story of why he decided to be a part of the IES Brain Research Foundation and champion this cause. For those coming just for dinner, meet and talk with Rouson and enjoy hors doeuvres at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6, There will be golf prizes, door prizes, a silent auction and raffles. Golf games include a putting contest, closest to the pin and line, longest drive and the Hole–In–One prize is a Lexus courtesy of Lexus of Route 10. Anyone registered by April 20 is invited to a free golf clinic on May 12 (one for beginners and advanced beginners and one for intermediate and above) courtesy of To The Tee Golf in Newton. Early registrants (by April 20) will also be entered into a drawing a half-hour private golf lesson or tickets for two at Medieval Times. There are a variety of sponsorships available for businesses, individuals or family in honor or in memory of someone special or in support of IES Brain Research Foundation. Since 2005, 39 summer fellowships have been awarded. One student fellow, together with a senior scientist, developed a treatment for glioblastoma (a deadly brain cancer) and it is in clinical trial.
