Vernon 21 - Sparta 7 After three quarters, the scoreboard had no points and then Vernon exploded with 21 straight points to record a 21-7 victory over Sparta and remain in a tie for first place with Hopatcong in the SCIL standings. Dan Lisa tossed a 34-yard strike to Pete Tczap to open the scoring. Anthony Palmisano tacked on another touchdown when he scooped up a fumble and raced 33 yards into the end zone. Justin Gannon then electrified the crowd with a 70-yard run to daylight. Ryan Anzelone converted all three extra point placements.
