Byram man faces DWI charge

Ian Pearson, 52, of Byram was charged with driving while intoxicated May 27 after police saw his white pickup truck failing to maintain its lane on Lackawanna Drive in Byram.

Officers stopped the truck and while speaking to the driver, Pearson, they suspected that he might be intoxicated.

He was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which he refused.

Pearson was arrested and taken to the police station where he refused breath tests.

He also was charged with refusal to submit to breath samples, failure to keep right, reckless driving and careless driving.

He was released to a friend pending an appearance in Andover-Joint Municipal Court.
