YMCA begins annual campaign
HARDYSTON Sussex County YMCA hopes to raise $190,000 in its annual Community Support Campaign. Donor support enables the Sussex County YMCA to help individuals and families in need participate in local programs, including after-school care, youth sports, health and wellness, swim lessons, summer camp, teen leadership. Last year, the Sussex County YMCA provided more than $400,000 in financial support which made it possible for 141 children to have attend summer camp; for 240 individuals and families to become members; 25 children to participate in after-school programs and 55 children to take swimming lessons. At the Sussex County YMCA, we count on the generosity of our donors and volunteers to make a meaningful impact on our community, said Lisa Pompey Smith, Sussex County YMCA board member and chairperson of the Strong Kids Campaign. We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors.
