Volunteer 'victims' needed

| 11 Jul 2019 | 11:12

Local Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) need "victim" volunteers for this Saturday from 8 a.m. until approximately noon. Volunteers would pretend to have an injury, or maybe even pretend to have died, and let the CERT members assess, label, and treat injuries. Victims might need to apply pretend blood, or be made up to look like as if having an open wound, etc. The training can also be fun. Victims might need to do some play-acting and scream, cry, or limp. This is done in a building that is used for drills. Can you come and help? This is an opportunity for newly trained CERT members to practice and hone their skills. They will even put out small fires and extricate "victims" from debris using cribbing techniques.
Place: Sussex Cty Fire Academy, 114 Morris Turnpike, Newton, NJ 07860.
Date: Saturday, July 13.
Time: 8 a.m. until approximately noon. (CERT members arrive at 9 a.m.)
