Family Partners of Morris & Sussex Counties (FPMS) in partnership with Caring Partners CMO is proud to present #SwagBagIt; A youth lead teen leadership conference and resource fair for youth and young adults aged 13-21. This program is scheduled for May 9, 2019 on Children's Mental Health Awareness Day. It will be led by the FPMS Youth Partnership Program (a leadership program for youth with mental health, emotional or behavioral challenges), our Youth Coach, and a team of volunteers who are parents of children with mental health challenges.
Family Partners of Morris & Sussex Counties, a Family Support Organization, is a family-run, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization devoted to providing support, education and advocacy to families and caregivers of children faced with emotional, behavioral and/or mental health challenges.
Caring Partners CMO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Care Management Organization dedicated to coordinating services, resources and support for children and young adults in Morris and Sussex counties with complex needs that include: emotional/behavioral, intellectual/developmental and substance use.
This inaugural event for Morris & Sussex counties caters “just to teens and young adults”. Breakout sessions will include: special guest speakers providing discussions on depression in young adults; teen survivor story; plus a fun and engaging activity for all. The long term outcomes of this project will raise awareness on personal and self-care, provide education to promote long term health and mental wellness and provide resources and health related product samples to youth attending the event.
The event will be held from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm at The Sheraton in Parsippany NJ.
