Students create chalk artworks
STANHOPE. Groups produce six large-scale artworks in parking spaces of the student lot.
Lenape Valley Regional High School students in several art classes taught by Sherry Carnegie participated in the annual chalk art event May 23.
Students in Art for the School and Beyond, Art Portfolio and Studio Art classes worked in groups to produce six large-scale artworks in parking spaces of the student lot.
The activity is meant to teach the school community about the chalk art process, Carnegie said.
Students and staff members watched the chalk artworks in progress throughout the day.
The chalk drawings ranged from reproductions of famous artworks to anamorphic (3D) images.
“I truly appreciate the Lenape Valley administration supporting this art activity,” Carnegie said.
“I loves this art activity because it gives my students an opportunity to work collaboratively and creatively on producing artworks that the entire LVR community enjoys and appreciates.”
