The eighth grade art classes at Byram Intermediate School are studying the many portraits of Andy Warhol, who was an American Pop Artist known for his portraits of famous people. Students viewed portraits by the artist and noted the abstract style incorporated within each art work. Linda Naimo, art teacher, took a digital photo of each student. Students then went to the computer to abstract their own photo into a posterized effect using photo editor. Work was then begun to draw their facial features into shapes of color. Using a grid system to draw ensured each student would achieve a likeness of themselves. Colored pencils were used to create vibrant color.
