School board vote moved to April

Byram Township voters will choose new members of the Board of Education as well as have a say on the school district’s budget April 16.
Previously, school board members were elected in November.
The board approved a resolution at its Jan. 17 meeting to move the election to April.
Fredon and Montague also hold school board elections in April.
According to the resolution, a vote will be held on the district’s general fund tax levy for the budget year.
The terms of board vice president Courtny Gallagher and member Kristy McFarlane expire this year.
Monday, Feb. 26 at 4 p.m. is deadline for candidates to file nominating petitions to run in the April election.
In Montague, two school board seats will be filled April 16. The terms are for three years.
