SCCC offers ‘Some College, No Degree’ program
NEWTON. The program aims to provide resources and support to empower individuals to return to higher education and complete their degrees or credentials.
The “Some College, No Degree” initiative at Sussex County Community College (SCCC) is meant for New Jersey residents who have completed part of their college education but did not finish their degree.
The program aims to provide resources and support to empower individuals to return to higher education and complete their degrees or credentials.
The benefits of completing a degree include higher earnings, expanded career options and increased job security. Statistics consistently show that college graduates earn significantly more than those without degrees.
The “Some College, No Degree” program includes:
• Prior learning assessments, which award college credit for non-academic experiences and training. By demonstrating prior knowledge and experience, prospective students can shorten the time necessary to complete the degree.
• The Community College Opportunity Grant, which covers tuition and approved fees for eligible New Jersey residents.
• Reverse transfer, which can guide students on which courses to transfer back to SCCC from a four-year institution.
”Returning to complete your degree can be a transformative journey, and we are committed to supporting every step of that process,” said Cory Homer, SCCC’s vice president of student success. “With the ‘Some College, No Degree’ program, individuals can unlock their full potential and achieve their academic and career aspirations.”
