Pour me another

Nearly 100 people soaked up sunshine and locally crafted drinks the Hudson Valley’s top watering holes on Dirt’s summer Pour Tour, Saturday, June 22.
Three school buses drove revelers to six destinations for tastings and samples: Glenmere Brewing, Pennings, Warwick Valley Winery, Westtown Brew Works, Applewood Winery and Orange County Distillery at Brown Barn Farms. The day was sponsored by Suburban Propane.
Guests noshed on vegan empanadas from Thank Goodness It’s Vegan, a new restaurant in Chester, and took home souvenir stainless steel Dirt magazine cups.
“Dirt’s mission is to be a meeting ground for folks who want to live closer to the earth and have some fun doing it,” said editor and publisher Becca Tucker. “We’re also all about supporting local businesses… without them we wouldn’t be in business. So the Pour Tour is a perfect marriage of the things we care about: community, fun, and introducing people to their new favorite beer – or wine – or whiskey – or cider.”
