    SUSSEX COUNTY — A program for children with special needs and their siblings, parents and caretakers will be held Sunday, May 20, from 2-4 p.m. at the Sussex Elks Lodge, 152 Lewisburg Rd. (Rt. 565), in Sussex. The event is part of a five session program of monthly activities to allow these families to enjoy some quality time together. There will be music, puppet making, hand games, snacks and a professional puppeteer show. Adults will have the opportunity to relax in their own lounge area while their children play. Sussex Elks collecting worn American flags The Sussex Elks Lodge is collecting faded and tattered American flags for proper disposal at its annual Flag Day Ceremony. Flags can be dropped off at the Frankford, Franklin, Vernon and Sussex-Wantage branches of the county library now through June 8. The Flag Day Ceremony for the retirement of the flags will be held at the lodge on Friday, June 15, at 6 p.m. A dinner will follow for $9 per person. Mother's Day breakfast Sussex Elks Antlers will be holding a Mother's Day breakfast at the lodge on Mother's Day, May 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Moms eat free and will be given a rose to mark their special day. Other guests will pay $5. Breakfast will include eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, homefries, toast, pastries, juice, coffee and tea. Dinner for active military members and their families In honor of Armed Forces Day, active military members and their families are invited to a free dinner at the Sussex Elks Lodge on Friday, May 18, at 6 p.m. If the family has a member of the military who is deployed they are still invited to attend to represent their loved one's service to the country. It would be appropriate for military personnel to attend in uniform, if possible. The lodge is located at 152 Lewisburg Rd. (Rt. 565) in Sussex (behind the Sussex-Wantage library, on the hill at the end of the airport runway).
