More than 500 attend Girls World Expo

VERNON — More than 570 girls attended the Straus News sponsored Girls World Expo that returned to the tri-state area on Sunday, Sept. 29.

Held at Minerals Hotel in Vernon, the expo featured guest speakers, workshops for teens and parents, a fashion show, art show, music and dance performances, and the Girls World Marketplace.

Local Girls of Merit between the ages of 11 and 18 were also honored for their exemplary community service through their actions, activities, leadership and positive influence on others.

Honored girls included: Samantha McCurry of Ogdensburg, N.J., Keara Jenkins of Wantage, N.J., Emily Scrobe, of Chester, N.Y., Megan Chiovaro of West Milford, N.J., Casey Magee of Warwick, N.Y., Tori Munro of Sparta, N.J., Miafayth Muse of Sparta, N.J., Haleigh Espada of Chester, N.Y., Erin Langdale of Warwick, N.Y., and Kelsey Polanis of Milford, Pa.
