Libraries offer Book Buddies Reading Program

The Sussex County Library System (SCLS) is holding a Book Buddies Reading Program through Sept. 6.
Book Buddies is designed to foster a lifelong love of reading and learning in children and young adults.
Participants are paired with experienced and passionate mentors, who will guide them through their literary journey and inspire them to explore the magical world of books.
Children and parents may create a customized experience with Book Buddies through:
• One-on-One Book Buddies Sessions, when children bring a book and read or are read to in 15-minute time blocks.
• Small Group Book Club Buddies, when children will read together (book provided).
• Virtual Book Buddies and Book Club Buddies, when children may participate in one-on-one sessions or small group settings via Zoom.
Children will log their reading and receive a prize at the conclusion of each session.
