Kittatinny Regional High School Cheerleaders win awards including the National 'Go Be Great' Award
Newton - Kittatinny Regional High School congratulates its cheerleaders for a job well done and for participating in a national competition, and winning accolades. The National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) high school national competition was held in Dallas, Texas this past weekend. Only teams who qualified at summer camp and who received a bid to this prestigious event were able to attend. There were 240 high schools from 28 different states represented.
KRHS won:
* 2nd place in the nation in Small High School Game Day Fight Song.
* 4th place in the nation in Small High School Game Day Cheer.
* 5th place in the nation in Small High School Game Day Band Dance.
* 5th place in the nation overall ranking in Small High School Game Day.
* 3rd place (bronze medal winners) in the nation in the first ever Spirit Program division.
* Best use of props specialty award.
* Go Be Great team nominee.
* Go Be Great Award Winner.
Out of 240 schools from 28 different states, only 5 teams received this award. Go Be Great recognizes the teams that have gone above and beyond exemplifying the Roles of a Cheerleader (Crowd Leader, Ambassador, Spirit Raiser, Athlete, Entertainer and Leadership) within their school and community.
