Gottheimer visits Andover for 43rd Cup of Joe with Josh
Andover. Residents raised local and national concerns to U.S. Rep. Gottheimer and his troubleshooting staff at the Route 206 Diner in Andover this week.
Congressman Josh Gottheimer (D NJ 5) held his latest "Cup of Joe with Josh" at the Rt. 206 Diner in Andover on Tuesday, Oct 10, bringing his troubleshooting staff along as residents voiced concerns about Lyme Disease, local infrastructure, and the presidential impeachment inquiry.
On the subject of the impeachment, Gottheimer said it’s important for all parties to be able to state their case and provide information and witnesses before anyone makes any decisions.
A few residents raised concerns about Lyme Diseasae.
Dimitri of Andover, who declined to give his last name, said he suffers from chronic Lyme Disease, and asked the congressman how to support healthcare for those with long-term illnesses.
Saying that his own sister-in-law also has Lyme Disease, Gottheimer said the best approach for funding for Lyme and other debilitating conditions is to protect the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
“With healthcare and marketplace costs rising,” Gottheimer said, “We have to look for areas of reform, especially with prescription drug costs and increasing insurance rates.”
John Wrobleski of Green told Rep. Gottheimer his concerns about gun control and the impeachment inquiry. Noreen Anne Walsh of Andover Borough told Gottheimer, “I’ve got a wall in front of my house. It belongs to the state and it’s crumbling. Everyone said I should call the congressman and ask if anything can be done about it."
