HAMPTON — Lowe’s in Hampton Township will be hosting its first annual county-wide Community Day on Saturday, May 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to benefit the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice. The Hampton Lowe's is located at 39 Hampton House Road in Hampton. The day will feature live music, a kid zone, food, commercial vendors, classic cars, fire trucks, the Army National Guard, veterans and much more. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice in Newton. The organization is known for being an area leader in caring for patients and their families who are faced with the terminal illness of a loved one. Glenn Lewis, Director of Development for Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, said, “Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice has been serving the needs of hospice patients and their families since 1980. With the proposed Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice, a 10-bed facility has been planned for Fredon Township. We will expand our services by offering a new level of care not seen before in our area. We want to thank Lowe’s for choosing us as the recipient of this charitable event.” Mayors from many surrounding townships will also be present at the event, including Mike Lensak of Andover, James Oscovitch of Byram, Philip Yetter of Hampton, Helen Le Frois of Newton and more. “This is an event we are proud to host for our neighbors and their families, local businesses and firemen, thanking them for their business and continued patronage," said store manager Jim Cummings. "We welcome and appreciate the mayors who will be at the event. Their attendance is imperative in making this day a success." The event is free and will take place rain or shine.
