Byram's gifted and talented take first
Byram Intermediate School eighth-graders win first place at the Sussex County Middle School Academic Bowl BYRAM Members of the eighth Grade SEEK (Gifted and Talented) class have made Byram Intermediate School history by winning first place at the Sussex County Middle School Academic Bowl held at Hardyston Middle School on March 29. The team, which was participating for the very first time, was comprised of eighth grade students Cassandra Rilinger, Maura Chozick, Krista Bahnsen, Brendan Raffay and Anthony Tesori. Teams representing various middle schools in Sussex County competed in a day-long competition which included ten rounds of Jeopardy-style challenges. The questions in each round of competition came from many subject areas such as grammar, math, science, social studies, music and art. Byram competed against Reverend Brown School for the final round in which Byram won in a very tight race to the finish. Mrs. Dawn Boyer, the teams advisor, said she is proud of the team and their accomplishments, which represent years of solid effort in all academic areas.
