Big Boss to perform in Newton

NEWTON — On Oct. 31, Big Boss Sausage will bring their barnyard-funk stomping rock show to The Greeks in Newton.
This Halloween 'Super Bash' will feature a costume parade, a haunted bar, drink specials, and prizes. A host of spooky musical guests will round out the evening.
The Greeks always goes above and beyond for the Halloween experience. The special effects, wild black lights, and ghostly decor will transform the pub into a freaky funhouse fiesta. The pumping sonic sound system and visual experience is sure to fill your trick-or-treat sack.
The Big Boss has had a busy summer. The band toured the Southeast, recorded a song for the Discovery Channel, and spent weeks performing throughout the Northeast, according to a band news release.
This fall, they will be laying tracks for their fourth studio release, and putting together a live compilation. Their high-spirited, crowd-engaging brand of astro-folk has entertained the masses throughout the years.
"If you’ve ever had a hankerin' for a Carpathian gypsy-infused version of the Rolling Stone's Honkytonk Woman, this may be your night," said Mingo Lodge, chief guitar strummer and vocal acrobat for the Sausage.
On Tuesday nights, musicians come from all around the tri-state area to perform at The Open Mic at The Greeks. Sign up is at 8 p.m., and runs as late as 2 a.m. Every Friday night local, regional, and even national acts take the stage. The layout of the establishment offers an up-close band to crowd relationship.
The Greeks is located at 470 U.S. 206 in Newton.
