ANDOVER — Andover Township Police promoted Officers Brian Kithcart and Rod Mosner to sergeant positions at a swearing in ceremony Monday at town hall.
Family members, fellow peers and residents were in attendance at the township committee meeting where the officers took an oath of office.
The promotions were considered replacement positions filling vacant spots left behind by Officer Eric Danielson, who was promoted to lieutenant two years and Officer Steve Murell, who retired last August.
After both attended Morris County Police Academy, Rosner joined Andover Township Police Department in 2001 and Kithcart in 2007. Kithcart is now a traffic sergeant.
To date, Andover Township Police has nine officers and three people in the police academy, according to Chief Gil Taglialatela.
“Both are very good officers and worked hard to get this position including passing a civil servant test. Both are very dedicated and capable who are going to do a great job,” Taglialatela said.
