Angelo Cianci Jr. of Oak Ridge, N.J., passed away on Friday, Feb. 26, 2021. He was 85.
He was born on April 1, 1935, in Belleville, N.J., to the late Marie (nee Pezzino) and the late Angelo Cianci.
Angelo married Louise (nee Eramo) in 1957 and resided for a short time in Newark, N.J. They moved to Belleville, where they raised their three children.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army in the 24th Infantry, where he was stationed in Germany from 1958 to 1960.
Angelo was an electrician for more than 50 years, and retired about 25 years ago and was a proud member of IBEW Local 581 (102).
In his spare time he enjoyed playing and listening to music, teaching the accordion and making wine. Angelo was a fan of the Big Band era, particularly Benny Goodman’s orchestra as well as Italian cultural music. Angelo was always a passionate fan of the New York Giants and the New York Yankees.
Angelo will best be remembered for his love of family, as they were everything to him.
He was predeceased by his mother, Marie, in 1972; his father, Angelo, in 1967; his brother, Anthony Cianci in 2014; and his sister, Theresa Bonante, in 2017.
Angelo is survived by his beloved wife, Louise; his loving children, Glenn A. Cianci and his wife, Trudy, Reneé DiPietro and her husband, Ron, and Angelo Cianci III and his wife, Linda; his cherished granddaughters, Tia DiPietro, Justine Cianci, Lauren Cianci, and Gillian Cianci; his dear sister, Jean Crecca and her husband, Vito; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family received visitors on March 2 at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, Newfoundland, N.J. A funeral mass took place March 3 at 11am at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Oak Ridge, N.J. Entombment followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, N.J.
