Stages are rocking this weekend

As Thanksgiving festivities wind down, Sussex County gears up for a weekend filled with live music to soothe your soul and kick off the holiday season.

Friday, Nov. 24

Starting at 5 p.m., unwind from the Thanksgiving hustle with the acoustic rock sounds of Rich Ortiz at Angry Erik Brewing, 2 Camre Drive, Newton.

Barry McArdle brings his favorite rock tunes to McQ’s Pub at Lake Lenape, 165 Andover Sparta Road, Newton, at 6 p.m.

Formerly of the band Scarecrow Collection, Gerard and Ed perform stripped-down acoustic versions of their hits and new originals at Krogh’s Restaurant & Brew Pub, 23 White Deer Plaza, Sparta, starting at 6:30 p.m.

At 7 p.m. at the Stanhope House, 45 Main St., immerse yourself in the captivating Jerry Garcia tribute by Johnny Lit. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

Matt Gillert takes the stage with a medley of country tunes starting at 8 p.m. at Brick & Brew, 27 Route 23, Franklin.

Experience the FIXX’s unique sound and hits such as “One Thing Leads To Another” live at the Newton Theatre, 234 Spring St. Kasim Sulton joins for an unforgettable evening, beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets are $39 and may be purchased online at skypac.org.

At 9 p.m., take the spotlight and belt out your favorite tunes in a night of karaoke at O’Reilly’s Pub & Grill, 271 Spring St., Newton.

Saturday, Nov. 25

Mike Herz delivers a blend of acoustic rock and folk starting at 4 p.m. at Angry Erik Brewing to elevate your Saturday afternoon.

At 6 p.m., Kenny & Gil stop by McQ’s Pub to play a mix of country and classic rock tunes.

Enjoy a diverse set from DUG the Band, covering artists such as Talking Heads and David Bowie, starting at 6:30 p.m. at Skylands Craft Beer & Wine Garden, 447 Route 284, Wantage

At 6:30 at the Glenwood, 2 Vernon Crossing, Vernon, Rick Winow will captivate the audience with his musical journey, which spans from him being scouted by Mainstream Records NYC at the age of 16 to performing on “The Uncle Floyd Show.”

Or visit Milk Street Distillery, 1 Milk St., Branchville, at 7 p.m. to rock the night away with the Snake Oil Willie Band’s classic rock ‘n’ roll.

At Hef’s Hut Bar & Grill, 414 County Road 517, Vernon, enjoy the exceptional talents of the indie pop duo DnA as they take the stage, starting at 8 p.m.

Also starting at 8 p.m. at Brick & Brew, Ron Ossi entertains with an evening of his musical delights.

End your night with the acoustic and original tunes of Gerry Arias kicking off at 9 p.m. at O’Reilly’s Pub.

Sunday, Nov. 26

Enjoy the last moments of the weekend with Marin Contini’s acoustic pop at Angry Erik Brewing from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.

At 5 p.m. at the Stanhope House, revel in the timeless tunes of Eric Clapton in a tribute performance. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

Wednesday, Nov. 29

Starting at 5 p.m., ease into the midweek with the soulful tunes of Sean Henry at McQ’s Pub.

Thursday, Nov. 30

Beginning at 6 p.m., join in the acoustic open mic night or stop in to listen at the Homestead Rest, 294 N Church Road, Sparta. Sign-ups start at 5:30 p.m.

Experience Mike Oregano’s unique one-man band featuring his reggae/hip hop/zazz style at 6:30 p.m. at Krogh’s.

The Side Cars Band returns to the Stanhope House with a tribute to the Cars band. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.
