Libraries seek teen volunteers

SUSSEX COUNTY. The summer reading program, ‘Adventure Begins at Your Library,’ starts June 27.

The Sussex County Library System (SCLS) is seeking volunteers ages 14-18 to assist with the summer reading program, “Adventure Begins at Your Library.”

Teens looking for service hours this summer may apply online at sussexcountylibrary.org/volunteer or at a local library branch.

The volunteer application, along with a supplemental medical note and parent consent form, are due no later than June 15.

Applicants must also attend a Teen Volunteer Orientation at their local branch. The times, dates and locations are available at Sussexcountylibrary.org/events

The Summer Reading program kicks off June 27 with special events at each library location. The program runs through July 27.

Besides volunteering, teens are invited to participate in the Summer Reading Program by reading books, earning raffle tickets and entering to win prizes.

All events and programs are free and open to all.

Prize winners must have a library card.
