From farmers market to bowling alley
SUSSEX COUNTY. Musicians will perform in a number of styles on a variety of stages.
The local music scene is heating up with a fantastic lineup of live performances. Whether you’re a fan of indie, rock or classic tunes, you’ll find something to delight your musical palate.
Friday, Oct. 20
Brian Rothenbeck and Jared Knapik will perform in alternating sets at Krogh’s Restaurant & Brew Pub, 23 White Deer Plaza, Sparta. From 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., the two will create a delightful indie music experience. Rothenbeck, a multi-talented artist and songwriter, will showcase his unique style. Knapik’s influences span from punk to ‘50s rock ‘n’ roll, resulting in a distinctive sound.
Visit the Stanhope House, 45 Main St., to rock out to the sounds of Straight to Hell, a Clash tribute band. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m.
Join Paul Derin at Milk Street Distillery, 1 Milk St., Branchville, starting at 7 p.m. for an evening of vinyl-spun vibes.
Roxon will grace the stage at Blue Arrow Farm, 86 Glenwood Road, Pine Island, N.Y., from 7 to 10 p.m. with classic rock infused with a touch of country.
Join Glenn Roberts for a night of “cranked-up country” at Brick & Brew, 27 Route 23, Franklin, starting at 8 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 21
Stroll through the Sparta Farmers Market, 89 S. Sparta Ave., and enjoy the sounds of Jeiris Cook, creating the perfect ambiance for your crisp autumn morning.
Listen to John Stanley’s solo acoustic performance, where he’ll cover classic and soft rock hits from the ‘60s to the ‘90s, at Angry Erik Brewing, 2 Camre Drive, Newton, starting at 4 p.m.
Rick Winow, a seasoned musician with a fascinating journey, will captivate the audience of the Glenwood, 2 Vernon Crossing Road, Vernon. Enjoy his unique blend of music that spans decades, starting at 6:30 p.m.
The Campfire Jukebox Band, a band born in the heart of Sussex County, will provide a delightful blend of rock, country, blues and alternative covers at Milk Street Distillery starting at 7 p.m.
The rock trio DUG the Band will take the stage starting at 8 p.m. at Brick & Brew.
Enjoy “Rock-N-Bowl” at Sparta Lanes, 43 Center St., while CoverSix delivers an engaging performance of classic rock hits from the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s from 8 to 11 p.m.
Starting at 8 p.m., Free Shrimp Band is sure to rock the night away at Hef’s Hut Bar and Grill, 414 County Road 517, Vernon.
Sunday, Oct. 22
Enjoy a delightful afternoon with the sounds of Vinyl Tap, a cover band playing hits from the ‘80s and ‘90s, at Blue Arrow Farm from 2 to 5 p.m.
Or visit Angry Erik Brewing to hear one of Sussex County’s favorite duos, the Harrisons, starting at 2:30 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 26
Join the acoustic open mic night from 6 to 9 p.m. at Homestead Rest, 294 N. Church Road, Sparta. Sign-ups begin at 5:30 p.m.
Rick Winow will delight the audience at Krogh’s with his acoustic solo performance, spanning classic rock and original music, kicking off at 6:30 p.m.
Melvin Seals & JGB will grace the stage at the Newton Theatre, 234 Spring St., with their unique blend of blues, funk, rock, jazz, R&B and gospel, starting at 8 p.m. This promises to be a jam-packed evening of sensational music. Tickets start at $49.
