Craig Hutcheson, superintendent of Kittatinny Regional School District, was elected secretary of the board of directors of the National Association of Federally Impacted Schools (NAFIS).
The election took place at the 2023 NAFIS Spring Conference in Washington, D.C. His term will last for two years.
As board secretary, Hutcheson will serve as a national leader advocating for school districts that receive federal impact aid. He will work with other board members from across the country to guide the association’s public policy priorities.
Impact aid reimburses school districts for the loss of revenue caused by the presence of nontaxable federal property.
Hutcheson has served on the NAFIS board for four years and has participated in every NAFIS conference since he was appointed superintendent at Kittatinny in 2007.
He has served in a dual role as a shared superintendent with Hampton Township School District for the past eight years.
