— A 34-year-old woman was severely injured in a hit-and-run incident Monday night in Stanhope.

According to the Stanhope Police Department, the woman, who has not yet been identified by police, was struck on Main Street near Bells Mansion restaurant around 10 p.m.

She was flown by helicopter to the Morristown Memorial Hospital, where she was treated for her injuries.

Police have not identified a suspect at this time.

The name of the victim is being withheld until the family has been notified, police said.

The case in being investigated by the Stanhope Police Department and the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office.
