LED technology is advancing rapidly. Currently, a major manufacturer (Philips Lighting Co.) has announced a simple LED retrofit tube called “InstantFit.” Available now in 4-foot tubes, this LED tube replaces standard T8 (1” diam) tubes and operates off the existing Instant Start Electronic fluorescent ballasts.

All you have to do is replace the existing fluorescent tubes with this new product, no re-wiring is required. Standard 4-foot T8 fluorescent tubes typically consume 32 watts. This new lamp consumes only 14.5 watts which means your operating costs of electricity are reduced by over 50%.

Just be sure your existing fluorescent ballasts are Instant Start electronic. These are now available at www.buyriteledlighting.com. They also come in various color temperatures from cool white to warm white.
